1Scope and Development Status
This Privacy Policy explains how CatholicCompanionOS ("CatholicCompanionOS," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you visit CatholicCompanionOS.com and related websites or public web properties that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Website").
CatholicCompanionOS is under active development. Some applications, portals, institutional services, artificial-intelligence features, cloud services, marketplace functionality, and other capabilities described on the Website may be prototypes, pilots, limited-access features, or planned services. This Policy primarily governs the current public Website. Additional privacy notices and agreements may apply when product features are enabled for users or institutions.
2Information We May Collect
Information you provide may include your name, email address, organization, role or title, contact-form content, pilot or partnership inquiries, support communications, feedback, and other information you choose to provide.
Technical information may include IP address, browser and device information, operating system, referring pages, pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, access timestamps, diagnostic information, and security logs.
The Website may use cookies or similar technologies for necessary functionality, security, authentication, preferences, analytics, or other legitimate operational purposes. Additional consent mechanisms may be provided where required.
3How We Use Information
We may use information to operate and secure the Website; respond to inquiries; communicate with prospective users, institutions, vendors, partners, or pilot participants; develop and improve CatholicCompanionOS; understand Website performance; diagnose technical problems; prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access; maintain appropriate records; comply with applicable law; and protect users, CatholicCompanionOS, and others.
4Children and Student Information
The current public Website is not intended to collect personal information directly from children under 13. Children under 13 should not submit personal information through general Website forms.
Future CatholicCompanionOS services may support students, children, parents, guardians, schools, parishes, and dioceses. Those services may require additional notices, parental-consent mechanisms, institutional agreements, access controls, and other safeguards. CatholicCompanionOS does not claim through this Policy that development-stage features have received governmental approval or compliance certification.
If we become aware that personal information from a child has been submitted through the public Website contrary to these provisions, we may take appropriate steps to delete or otherwise address it.
5Religious and Sensitive Information
CatholicCompanionOS is designed for Catholic individuals and institutions. Future services may involve information connected with parish participation, sacramental administration, ministry participation, family relationships, school activities, or other faith-related matters. The current public Website is not intended as a general mechanism for submitting sacramental records, pastoral records, confidential counseling information, or similarly sensitive records. Please do not submit such information through general contact forms unless specifically requested through an authorized workflow.
6Artificial Intelligence
CatholicCompanionOS is developing artificial-intelligence-assisted functionality, including Lux. AI features may assist with information retrieval, navigation, recommendations, summaries, analysis, or authorized workflows. AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate and is not a substitute for appropriate human judgment or professional, legal, medical, financial, educational, canonical, sacramental, or pastoral advice.
Where AI functionality processes personal or institutional information, additional notices, controls, contractual terms, and institutional requirements may apply before deployment.
7Service Providers and Subprocessors
We may use third-party providers to host, secure, develop, operate, or support CatholicCompanionOS. Depending on the service, these may include infrastructure, database, authentication, communications, payment, analytics, security, and AI providers. Current development uses technologies or services that may include Google Cloud, Supabase, and Stripe. Providers may change as the platform develops. Their processing may also be governed by their own contracts and privacy obligations.
8Payments
Future services may support subscriptions, purchases, donations, marketplace transactions, or other payments. When a third-party payment processor handles payment-card information directly, CatholicCompanionOS intends to minimize its possession of complete payment-card credentials. Additional payment and marketplace terms may apply when such functionality is enabled.
9Disclosure of Information
We may disclose information to service providers acting on our behalf; as reasonably necessary to operate or secure the Website; to comply with applicable law or valid legal process; to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; to protect rights, safety, or property; in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of business assets; or with your authorization. We do not intend to sell personal information collected through the public Website for monetary consideration.
10Security
CatholicCompanionOS seeks to use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information being processed. No Internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure. References to security architecture, testing, controls, or planned safeguards do not mean that CatholicCompanionOS has completed a particular audit or obtained a particular certification unless expressly stated and documented.
11Retention
We may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including Website operation, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, support, and appropriate business records. Different categories of information may have different retention periods.
12Your Privacy Choices
Depending on applicable law and where you live, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection concerning certain personal information. You may submit a privacy request through the contact methods published on the Website. We may need to verify requests before acting on them. Additional jurisdiction-specific notices may be added as CatholicCompanionOS expands.
13Third-Party Links
The Website may link to third-party sites or services. CatholicCompanionOS does not control independent third parties and is not responsible for their privacy practices, content, or security.
14International Use
CatholicCompanionOS is currently being developed in the United States. Future availability in other countries may require additional privacy notices, data-protection terms, contractual safeguards, or regional restrictions. Website availability does not necessarily mean every CatholicCompanionOS service is offered in every jurisdiction.
15Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our Website, services, technology, legal obligations, or business practices evolve. The Last Updated date identifies the current version. Material changes may be communicated through additional notices where appropriate.
